New yummy mummy destination in Raynes Park

A stylish design shop. A kitchen with an experienced chef. A team of designers on hand.

I had to see it.

Yesterday I took a trip to Raynes Park to celebrate the official launch of new South West London concept store Absolute Abode. It felt like I was going on a mini-excursion, but in reality it was only a 20-minute drive away.

And it was exactly the type of place I love. The new  concept store has a home section with gifts, furniture and decorative items, including some lamps I’ve been eyeing for a while. The bonus is that there’s also a brilliant café section serving light lunches, cakes and coffees. I was  excited to hear the kitchen boasts an ex-Nopi chef, and the place is soon to get its hot food license, meaning the menu will be expanding. I also can’t wait to follow the events schedule, as there will be workshops and seasonal events, such as carol singing, in store going forward.

Despite the official launch being yesterday, Absolute Abode has been open for a few months and when I was there it became obvious the café has already been noticed by local mums, as there were a number of buggies coming and going.

I’m clearly not the only mum who loves the concept of combining a design-focused interior shop with a café. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy a morning latte in beautiful surroundings.
