0Painting Christmas decorations at Sammy Duder
On Wednesday afternoon Big Girl, Baby Boy and I organised the most important Christmas presents. We had been invited to the charming Battersea pottery studio Sammy Duder to make our Christmas tree decorations, which grandparents have come to expect under the tree every year.
Sammy Duder has a selection of Christmas tree decorations to paint at this time of year, and in addition to large baubles and reindeer-shaped decorations, there are hearts, circles, birds, stars and more to paint (from £7 per decoration).
I think they make lovely little presents, as Sammy Duder ties checked ribbons on them to finish them off and there’s also a writing service, so customers could choose to have names and ‘Christmas 2016’ written on the decorations, making them even more special.
Last year Baby Boy only participated with fingerprints, but this year I had suggested to Big Girl and Baby Boy that they could paint one side each of their decorations to give as presents. Big Girl started working straight away, using sponges and different brushes to make faces and people on her sides.
Baby Boy, however, seemed to have better things on the agenda and preferred to play with the toys in the exciting toy basket and had to rely on help from Big Girl to finish off his sides. The result was still some very sweet little gifts, which I know grandparents will want to put on their tree and treasure for years to come.
Sammy Duder also has large elves to paint, which would make lovely elf on the shelf Christmas decorations
