0Getting party ready with Gwenelda at-home hairdressing
‘What? Do you think you’re going to a ball?’
When I showed Daddy T my outfit after getting dressed on Thursday I didn’t exactly get the reaction I was hoping for. He thought I was way overdressed for a Christmas party in my short black dress, so I quickly changed back into trousers.
Thirty minutes later when we arrived at the party I couldn’t resist having a go at him though. I couldn’t see one other woman in trousers, and several were in long evening dresses. Argh.
This really was the day I should have booked an at-home blow dry with a beauty service company like Gwenelda, and really made an effort before a super fun night out dancing with Daddy T.
Before a charity ball we went to in November I had the opportunity to try a hairdresser from Gwenelda, which has a new app to make it easy to book a beautician, to review, and she was a charming and professional hairdresser we were happy to welcome in our home. She was also incredibly flexible and we managed to book in a last minute haircut for Daddy T before she pinned up my hair.
She came the night before the ball to pin up my hair, and we then had friends over for dinner, so I had the appointment in the kitchen where Daddy T was preparing supper and I could still chat to our friends as well. I slept with the pins on overnight and when I took them out the next day I had big curls and more voluminous hair.
With a baby and a preschooler and a busy lifestyle, this seemed like the best way to get my hair done before the ball. I don’t always want to be the one who’s made zero effort, and that’s why I love the fact that Gwenelda makes a blow dry or pin up easily accessible to busy mums.
