0Preparing baby for Christmas
Baby Girl passed a test yesterday. The Christmas party test. I put Baby Girl to bed in her carrycot in the living room and turned on the TV.
She’s used to sleeping in a quiet bedroom in the evening, and we tend to tiptoe around the flat every day after seven. When we’ve had a babysitter, we’ve even suggested leaving a key with the concierge in the building to avoid having her ring the doorbell.
For some reason, I’ve been convinced Baby Girl needs to sleep in a quiet and dark bedroom in the evening despite sleeping in busy restaurants or next to children’s birthday parties at lunchtime.
Yesterday’s test proved me wrong. It was designed to simulate a family Christmas event. And she did it. She’s qualified. Baby Girl is all set for the festive season.
