0Preparing baby for sub-zero weather
I’ve read about the power of positive thinking, so I’m trying to be upbeat about the cold weather. There’s definitely one good thing about it. I don’t have to worry about overheating, which was my main cause for concern when Baby Girl was born.
There was a heatwave in London at the time, and I found the weather very stressful. We had been taught to keep the room temperature between 18-20 degrees to prevent cot death, so I kept panicking when I looked at the room thermometer. At one point it showed 29 degrees despite us having done everything we could to cool down the flat.
Now the heatwave is a distant memory. I’ve curled up on the sofa in a nursing fleece from Boob Design, and Baby Girl is still in her pyjamas. Two pyjamas and a body actually. She’s wearing three layers because she felt a bit cold for the first time.
Daddy T has been called in to help us. He’s found a cold cream for Baby Girl from Sebamed at a pharmacy in Norway, and yesterday he was sent out to buy a duvet weight sleeping bag from Merino Kids.
Bring it on. We’re ready for a white Christmas.
