0Preparing for a rainy day with baby
Before Baby Girl was born I read a number of lists for what to buy to prepare for a new arrival. They all included buggy, car seat, steriliser, babygros and so on. But none of them helped prepare me for bad weather. There was no mention of rainwear and Hailo apps.
On a rainy day, Baby Girl is always fine under the rain cover on her buggy. It’s me who’s the problem. I don’t want to get soaked.
When it’s windy and raining, it’s not always convenient to carry an umbrella in one hand and push the buggy with the other. Instead, I get wet – sometimes soaked.
This is how Baby Girl first started getting experience in hailing black cabs, and we’re now regular users of Hailo. But there are no black cabs in the middle of the park. I soon realised it would be much better to simply own some waterproof clothes.
That’s why I’ve become the proud owner of a classic, long Ilse Jacobsen raincoat with a matching hat, and I have big plans to use it soon. After five months I’m finally ready for life with baby.
