0Reliving favourite Disney classics with Disney Movie Storybooks
When I did a presentation about Norway in Big Girl’s nursery the other day I wanted to make it relevant to the audience of three and four year olds by talking about how the creators of Frozen had been inspired by Norway. As part of my selection of props, I had a beautiful and glossy book to show. It was Frozen (Parragon Books, £9.99) from Disney’s Movie Storybook Collection by Parragon Books, which we’d received to review to celebrate Disney Book Week.
The hardcover picture book had exactly what I needed–stunning illustrations of fjords and the characters in costumes that look similar in style to some traditional Norwegian costumes.
My little helper liked the book so much she decided she wanted to start reading loud from the book midway through the presentation, and putting the book aside for the remaining five minutes proved challenging. I’m not surprised the book is difficult to put away though. It’s a large, quality hardback with colourful illustrations, and it has been lovely to read aloud at home.
We’ve come into the habit of also regularly using the DisneyLife app for bedtime reading due to the wide selection of books, but the Disney Movie Storybooks are the type of books that I want to have at home for Big Girl to flick through and for us to read together to relive the movies.
We also received The Jungle Book, and since we’re yet to see the new film, this has been good for introducing Big Girl to the story about Mowgli.
Whether it is for reliving favourite movies or introducing children to tales parents remember from their own childhoods, the Disney Movie Storybook Collection features large-sized, quality books that can be treasured for generations (and some are now available from Amazon from only £3.99). The series includes 23 titles, ranging from Frozen and The Jungle Book to Lion King and Tangled and many more. They all tell the tales of favourite Disney/Pixar movies, making them great for fostering a love for reading in young children and particularly lovely for special bedtime reading.
Happy reading!
