0Review: Annabel Karmel Quick & Easy Weaning for taking the stress out of introducing baby to solids
‘Do you like preparing baby food? It looks like you’re really enjoying it’
When friends were over the other day we were all in the kitchen and I was cooking baby food while chatting away.
I had been dreading this phase when I would have to cook purees as well as normal dinners, but apparently the vibe visitors are getting is that I’m loving weaning.
The truth is that they caught me at a good time. I was feeling inspired after trying out some recipes from UK baby food expert Annabel Karmel’s Quick & Easy Weaning, which I’ve received to review.
The book provides a guide to introducing baby to solids, and it’s been ideal for me, who needed to refresh my memory about weaning. There’s a page with an overview of meal planners for the first two weeks, which I’ve liked referring to, and there are more than 100 recipes with easy-to-follow instructions, colour-coded boxes with important information, and bright images.
Annabel Karmel Quick & Easy Weaning makes baby food straightforward and exciting, and I’ve realised some baby recipes are so delicious they can be used for family dinners too. My favourite so far is butternut squash, tomato and pepper, which I’ve made a large portion of to use as a tasty and nutritious pasta sauce for three-year-old Big Girl as well as a vegetable puree for six-month-old Baby Boy.
For busy mums who want baby to have homecooked and nutritious first meals, Annabel Karmel Quick & Easy Weaning is an inspiring and easy-to-use cookbook, guiding parents through the transition to solids.
