0Review: Fun art activity subscriptions and gifts from toucanBox
I’m not sure who was the most excited when we opened the toucanBox we had received to test last week. Baby Girl seemed thrilled simply to see the colourful box, which even had her name on it, and I was so impressed with the content – four boxes with all we needed for different art activities and an art-themed sticker book.
The box, for children aged 3 to 8, made it extremely easy for me to make art with Baby Girl at home. When we’ve had a spare half hour this week, we’ve opened a new box, and she’s painted a Mondrian-inspired canvas, drawn with chalk on sandpaper to make impressionist art, decorated a cube like Van Gogh, and painted in Jackson Pollock-style.
Since the boxes are aimed at older children, 19-month old Baby Girl was a bit too young to manage some of the techniques and I had to look out for small parts, but we still had lots of fun doing all the activities together.
I also really liked that we didn’t have to invest in a range of big packs of art material and come up with new ideas for what to make ourselves. It was all there. The instructions were easy to understand, and we had all we needed in each box.
I love the idea of a monthly toucanBox-subscription or buying a big box to take on holiday, as I think toucanBox makes it easy for parents to engage children in art activities!
The box we tested is called ‘A Super Surprise Box’ and can be ordered for £19.95 for a single box or for £59.95 for a three-month gift subscription. Boxes start from £12.95.
