Review: BABY born scooter and helmet for city-life imaginary play

In the last two weeks, it’s not been fun to be a remote-controlled car or little electric train in our toy cupboard. They’ve struggled to compete with the large BABY born City RC scooter that is now regularly zooming around our living room and doing laps in the kitchen.

We received the BABY born remote-controlled scooter (currently priced at £27.09 on Amazon.co.uk) and BABY born helmet to review (currently priced at £10.99 on Amazon.co.uk), and the two doll accessories (doll sold separately) have become extremely popular additions to the doll’s corner and opened up new opportunities for imaginary play themed around city life and travelling.

The BABY Born doll, which we received to review last year, has now started getting around to activities on her scooter and holidaying on her scooter. For holiday imaginary play, she travels around with a packed bag and goes to anywhere from Disney World to the countryside. She stays in a tent or lounges on a sun bed – usually with her scooter parked next to her.

It is easy for the children to place BABY born on the scooter, as it has a wide seat that suits her well. They can lean her forward and her hands touch the handlebars too.

The scooter was a hit even before we had installed batteries. In fact, I think many will happily play with the scooter by pushing it around the floor too, but the cool surprise her is that it has an easy-to-use pink remote control. It can drive both forwards and backwards, and when turning left or right, the indicators flash like a real one would do. In addition, the scooter comes with lots of stickers, which will be great for girls who enjoy customising their toys.

We were also delighted to receive the pink helmet. This doesn’t come with the scooter, and it is a separate accessory to buy that matches the vehicle. It is easy to put on BABY born, and it comes with a fold-down visor. In my view, it is great for children to have a helmet with the scooter to recognise the importance of being well-protected when driving around.

Super cool doll accessories for mini Londoners who are used to seeing scooters around the capital!
