Review: BabyBjorn tableware for non-messy independent eating

BabyBjorn Plate and spoonWhen I was working full time, friends sometimes asked me to help writing CVs or cover letters. Now I’m asked about views on kids products, activities and routines instead.

That’s how I’ve ended up being asked about children’s tableware on several occasions recently, and it’s been the BabyBjorn products friends have seen at our house that have been generating attention among visiting mums.

I had the opportunity to take home some plates, spoons and cups from a recent BabyBjorn press event, and we use these products every day now because of the clever design.

The BabyBjorn plates, which are stackable, have a high rim, making them stable and allowing for easy independent eating for little ones. Since they are so stable and good for children, the design means I have to squeeze them into our dishwasher, but a friend with the same plates said they fit perfectly in hers.

When speaking to friends I’ve also highlighted that I like the clover design, which makes the plates seem more grown-up than divider plates, but still make it easy to separate food for toddlers who can be funny about food touching other types of food.

BabyCup-Pink-PurpleThe matching easy-grip BabyBjorn cups have ml and fl oz markings on the side, which I’ve not seen other tumblers have, and I still think it’s useful to see how much milk, for example, Baby Girl drinks in the morning. Since they have a wide rim with anti-slide edging the cups are not stackable, but the design means they don’t tip easily, so there’s less mess.

The cups are also microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, and they have a rounded bottom, meaning they are brilliant for serving food too. I sometimes give Baby Girl berries in hers, or even ice cream with a spoon if she’s in for a treat.

The BabyBjorn cups and plates are definitely not to be ignored for families who want quality tableware with smart design!
