0Review: Biscuiteers Icing Class for a last minute Christmas gift for mums
‘Are you going to Biscuiteers? But that’s a kids place?’
Big Girl was not happy when she heard where I was going after dropping her off in nursery. I was telling Daddy T about The Snowman icing class I’d been invited to, and I hadn’t quite realised three-year-old Big Girl was listening in. I’m not surprised she thought it sounded like good fun because that’s exactly what I thought when I heard about it too.
It was a 2-hour workshop for adults where we got to ice a tin of Snowman-themed biscuits, which seemed like the perfect Christmas treat for me. After a rough week of trying to get everything sorted for Christmas and dealing with end of term tantrums, I felt I really needed to take a break–and doing something new and different like icing beautiful biscuits in a warm and welcoming setting at Biscuiteers was a great way to switch off.
I could sit down for 2 hours straight, enjoy a latte, learn new icing skills and feel truly inspired. I was gutted I messed up a face on one Snowman, but apart from that I was really proud of the tin I brought home to show Daddy T. I also felt truly inspired afterwards, buying colouring and icing bags to take home and continue what I’d learnt together with Big Girl in our own kitchen.
I think a gift certificate to a Biscuiteers icing class would make a wonderful Christmas present for a mum who’d enjoy doing something new and take a break from a busy family life or a screaming baby for a few hours. Biscuiteers run regular classes with seasonal themes, and I’ve previously considered taking my mum to a Biscuiteers icing class, as I also think the courses can be ideal mother-daughter experiences or a special day out with friends.
Biscuiteers may be great fun for kids, but it’s also brilliant fun for mums.
Biscuiteers icing classes run in the Biscuiteers Notting Hill or Northcote Road boutiques, and tickets are available to buy online. The 2-hour workshops are priced at £78 per person, and in Northcote Road there are also one-hour workshops priced at £42 per person. Attendees are served tea or coffee, and everyone receives an apron to wear and later take home. In addition, course-goers can enjoy an exclusive 10% off any purchase in the boutique after the class.
