0Review: Findababysitter.com for finding more help for mum
When I started talking to friends about how to find more help in London, one Chelsea mum recommended Findababysitter.com. She said she had several friends who had used this service and been very happy with the offering, and I was instantly intrigued when I started looking on the website.
The website makes it easy for parents looking for babysitters, au-pairs, nannies, housekeepers, cleaners, maternity nurses and more identify available candidates in the area. There is basic information available about each candidate listed and candidates with DBS checks (previously CRB) and first aid training are clearly marked. I could quickly see that several candidates were people we would want to get in touch with, and after contacting the company, I was offered to try the service to review.
It is free to search for candidates on Findababysitter.com, but to contact them parents sign up for a membership (£25 a month if choosing a monthly subscription). Some candidates give out their phone numbers, so it’s just a case of calling, and others can be contacted via the messaging system on the site.
I now have so many mummy friends with excellent contacts for help, but when you run out of friends to ask for referrals, I think Findababysitter.com is a great alternative to using a more traditional recruitment agency, particularly for families who are not looking for full-time help making high agency fees more difficult to justify. We’ve not used any of the candidates from Findababysitter.com, but it is still a service I would try again if we were to come in a situation when we once more were looking for more help.
