Review: Fun and colourful rugs for kids from the Zugs

Since we’ve just moved into a new house, Baby Girl has a new room and she already appears to have opinions on interior design. When we had received a bright pink and red Hazel the Heart rug from the Zugs to review, I showed it to her, but first placed it by the wall with all the other boxes we were due to unpack.

But Baby Girl wanted her rug straight away, and she wanted it in the middle of her room. It was obvious this belonged on her floor, and it was going nowhere else.

The colours are a bit brighter than what I would typically go for, but it is very clear that this cute and colourful rug appeals to 21-month old Baby Girl. The Zugs (£90) have been designed with children’s imagination in mind, and I think that’s what I would often forget when picking out room decorations.

For me, what I like the most about Hazel the Heart is the quality of the rug. It is handmade from thick 100% wool pile combined with non-toxic dye, and it has a pure cotton backing. It feels soft, but also hardwearing, which is ideal for children, and it’s the type of quality product I would be happy to have in my daughter’s room.

And I’m sure the bright pink would keep her happy too!
