Review: Home Spa London for regular at-home massages for busy parents

Every other week we have a chill-out evening to look forward to. We don’t get a babysitter and we stay at home. It’s our spa night.

Daddy T and I have decided that the best way to cope with cold and grey weather, packed schedules and little sleep is by having a fortnightly massage.

We started this after I reviewed Home Spa London in 2015, and I was delighted to do another review now since it’s a service we’ve come to love and use regularly for several months of the year.

We buy a course of 10 sessions when we feel we need an extra treat–usually in connection with grey and rainy days–and we then book fortnightly slots with the lovely and professional Joanna, founder of Home Spa London.

On the evening of our appointments Joanna arrives with a full massage table, fresh towels and music, and she creates a relaxing atmosphere in our sitting room. Daddy T and I have one-hour massages after each other, with the first starting at either 7pm or 8pm in the evening.

I feel this is exactly what I need to pause and take a break now and then. As a mum of a toddler, I’m regularly carrying my not-so-little-one on the hip, or jogging bent forward in an attempt to push 19-month-old Baby Boy on the scooter. It makes a big difference to be able to have this special treat to look forward to, recharging the batteries and feeling refreshed for the new day.

Part of the reason it’s relaxing is that Joanna is a lovely person to have in the house and an experienced massage therapist, and I like that she brings the bits and bobs I would expect to find in a spa’s treatment room. This is everyday pampering at its best!

READER OFFER: To celebrate Home Spa London now offering online bookings, readers can enjoy 15% off treatments with code MITC.

A one-hour at-home massage with Home Spa London starts from £60, and there’s a special offer on booking a course of 10 sessions. In addition to spa treatments, Home Spa London is now also introducing make-up services for events, office parties, weddings and more, and the company also offers baby massage courses–both private and group courses.
