0Review: Lascal Buggy Board for toddlers on the move
When I was walking down Pimlico Road soon after Baby Girl had turned two, an elderly lady stopped and asked me if I was ok. “It looks like you could do with a buggy board,” she said.
Baby Girl was sitting on the pavement instead of in her buggy, and we were going nowhere as usual. It was raining, I had too much to carry and my parking was about to expire. I really wished I’d had what the lady, who must have been an experienced grandmother, talked about.
I’ve been meaning to get one of these for some time, and was now thrilled to receive the Lascal Maxi Buggy Board to review from baby nutrition company Friso Arabia, which offers baby formula products.
I initially thought the buggy board was only for families with more than one child, but after seeing how it can help getting around, I think it’s a good idea even for families who simply have a stubborn toddler on their hands. Baby Girl was so excited to try hers over the weekend, so she dragged the box across the floor to get Daddy T to install it on her Maclaren Quest pushchair.
It’s meant to be very easy to install, and there are no tools needed and several YouTube videos on how to do it. It also fits most buggies, and it clicks off easily, meaning it doesn’t affect folding the buggy if correctly fitted.
We now have it on the Maclaren Quest, but I can’t wait to move it to the Bugaboo when Baby Boy arrives. I think the maxi board will be more practical on a buggy with adjustable handlebars, as it affects the posture of the person pushing the stroller when attached to our Maclaren Quest.
Baby Girl’s head also ends up in between the handles and could easily bump into the handles unless protected by the steerers hands. I don’t think we would have had any of the same challenges when used on the Bugaboo, so I can see us using it more on the Bugaboo and I would have chosen the Lascal Mini Buggy Board on the Maclaren stroller, as the stand-on platform is smaller on the Mini and less likely to be in the way.
I know a buggy board is the answer to many of my existing problems and future concerns. I simply need a way to get around with an opinionated toddler in tow and soon also a baby.
Baby nutrition company Friso Arabia offers a range of baby formula products, and does not focus on baby equipment, but I had the opportunity to choose a baby or toddler product I wanted to review from a different company
