0Review: Little Green Radicals for organic baby fashion with quirky prints
‘He can’t wear that!’
When I tried dressing six-month-old Baby Boy in a hand-me down from Big Girl the other day she was quick to notice that poor Baby Boy looked a bit off. He cannot wear anything vaguely pink, or play with a pink toy apparently, so there’s not much he can use from when Big Girl was little, as her clothes and accessories were mostly candy pink.
Baby Boy’s wardrobe is a bit more funky, particularly after he received some pieces from Little Green Radicals to review. Little Green Radicals, a UK kids fashion brand started in 2005 and among the first in the country to achieve fair-trade certification for its cotton, offers organic baby and kids clothes in a variety of earthy colour tones. Many of the pieces have quirky prints, and my favourite from the latest collection is the knitted starry cloud jumper (starting from £34) we received for Baby Boy. The cotton jumper feels soft on baby’s skin, and the dove grey colour is easy to pair with jeans and the colour hasn’t faded in the wash.
It has two bright coloured buttons on the shoulder, adding detailing to the jumper and making it easy to take on and off. The buttons match the colours in the embroidered stars on the jumper, and the design looks cute and fun.
Baby Boy also received the cute still water blue jeans from Little Green Radicals, which is in a grey-blue tone, and these are trimmed with a sweetie jar print inside the legs, making them ideal for folding up. I like baby and kids trousers that are easy to fold up, as it often means we can get more use out of them, and these jeans are comfortable for baby to wear and work well with his shirts. They would also look adorable with other Little Green Radicals clothes with the sweetie jar print.
Baby Boy is quickly growing up, and looks smart in trousers and jumpers now, but for parents planning for a new arrival, I like the natural organic collection from Little Green Radicals. It includes organic bodies and sleepsuits, and knowing the quality of the clothes from this brand, I wish I’d known about their basics when shopping for our first baby.
