0Review: Market Hall Fulham for a vibrant family lunch
On Friday I saw a Market Hall Fulham in a new light. We were invited to review a half-term lunch with the children at the buzzing Fulham venue, and I had previously only been with friends for dinner.
This time we were not looking for spicy sauces or bold flavours. We were eyeing the cards on our table titled ‘Half-Term Treats’ and decided on a kids burger with fries from Hotbox (£7) and a kids pizza from Made of Dough (£5) for the children. They also found a tempting strawberry and banana smoothie (£4) on the menu from Press Coffee.
Sitting around us on the long, communal tables in the market hall, there were a mix of families and groups of professionals. It seemed as busy as I remembered it from the time I went for a weekday dinner, and the tables near the small children’s play area were already occupied when we arrived.
After having gone around to the different tills to order all our meals and drinks, we ended up with five buzzers and the children were loving every time one would light up in red to notify us that the food was ready. It kept being a guessing game as the buzzers looked the same, and afterwards it struck me that families might find it more convenient to order from the same trader to make it easier to ensure the food is ready at the same time.
But the variety and choice of quality food on offer from the six traders is one of the things that makes Market Hall Fulham stand out for me, and I like the street-food feel the venue offers. It is relaxed and spacious and the atmosphere can make it a good place for a family to dine – perhaps combined with a visit to the cinema or a day on Eel Brook Common!
Market Hall Fulham is located near Fulham Broadway Station and the venue is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
