Review: My London Girl clothes for matching girls and doll sleepovers

‘We can have a sleepover!’

In the last six months Big Girl has been going on and on about sleepovers, and I can’t say I’ve been incredibly supportive of my three-year-old’s plans. But when she received matching My London Girl PJs for herself and the beautiful My London Girl Elisabeth doll we bought last year, she seemed thrilled she and her mini-me Elisabeth could have a sleepover.

Brilliant plan.

Big Girl and her doll put on their sweet, pink print PJs and cozy My London Girl fleece hoodie tops we’d received to review, and crawled into bed – both with big smiles. The next morning Big Girl decided she should take Elisabeth’s fleece hoodie in her coat pocket in case she were to get upset during the day, as the fleece hoodie was ‘so cozy’.

Elisabeth is the doll Big Girl picked out herself when we visited the cute My London Girl shop in Westfield last year, and the idea is that girls can find dolls that look like themselves and have a mini-me. The store has everything from dress-up costumes for the dolls to matching girls and dolls party ware.

Now was the very first time Big Girl has had a chance to match her doll, and for a girly preschooler, who’s recently learnt to dress dolls herself, I could see it is clearly special to be able to dress in the same outfits as her doll. I think matching sleepwear and loungewear like PJs and hoodies to wear inside are particularly fun and practical options, and brilliant for girls who love the idea of sleepovers–and may have mums who are not always planning the real thing.
