Review: Puddle Pac-a-Mac from Muddy Puddles for London weather

Red raincoat kids Pac a mac Muddy PuddlesWith the weather having been incredibly unpredictable at times this spring, I’ve sometimes found myself walking around South West London in a complete downpour only wearing a thin sweater or jacket. The good news has been that Baby Girl has been fine.

We received a Puddle Pac-a-Mac raincoat from kids waterproof clothing brand Muddy Puddles to review, and it’s so lightweight and thin that it takes hardly any space and doesn’t add weight to my bag, so I’ve stuffed it into the pouch with the other clothes I carry around for Baby Girl.

She has it in size 3-4 years, and it’s then big enough for her to wear over her other jacket when it’s too cold to wear this thin, lightweight raincoat without anything underneath.

Although I notice that we don’t use rainwear too often with our London lifestyle, I think it is still essential to have smart clothes for unpredictable weather and travel, and I like the quality and feel of the breathable Puddle Pac-a-Mac, which folds away into its jacket pocket. Baby Girl’s other raincoat is padded and takes too much space in my bag for me to take it with us if I’m not sure we’ll need it. I’ve never bothered taking it on holiday either, so for us the waterproof Pac-a-Mac (£20) is a more practical everyday option for summer.

Most importantly, I do want to ensure we have the necessary gear for enjoying London’s beautiful parks, playgrounds and fun outdoor activities–even if the sky sometimes looks greyer than I would have preferred!

Puddle Pac-a-Macs come in a variety of colours and prints, and they are available in sizes 18-24 months to 7-8 years. For babies, there are lightweight, waterproof all-in-ones in the same range.

Glad you like it! I was caught out in the rain yesterday too! It seemed like it would be a lovely day at one point! It’s super practical to have a raincoat that folds into a pocket at hand to protect children in the rain. Tine x
