Review: Wentworth Wooden Puzzles for unique and beautiful family puzzles

One of the things I know we’ll be getting back into this summer is puzzles. Summer is the one time a year when I can guarantee Daddy T buys himself a puzzle to do to keep entertained on long evenings. His puzzle interest tends to inspire the little ones too, so despite my limited involvement in the hobby, I think doing puzzles over the school holiday makes for a brilliant family activity.

This spring we’ve received jigsaw puzzles from Wentworth Wooden Puzzles to review, and I think these puzzles stand out for the quality and uniquely crafted pieces.

With the wooden pieces, smart boxes and practical drawstring bags for storage, the beautiful puzzles would make brilliant summer gifts, perhaps particularly for London families encouraging little ones to complete puzzles ahead of school assessments.

The collection includes shaped puzzles and puzzles with specially-designed whimsy pieces, so in the   I Know My 123 wooden jigsaw (£25) we received to review, there are some animal-shaped pieces, which I think make it particularly fun for children. This puzzle is also shaped as a snake and features a number line to 10, as well as animals to count, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a colourful and pretty educational puzzle for preschoolers.

We also received the 250-piece Home Sweet Home wooden puzzle (£29.95), which Daddy T got involved in completing. This puzzle of a traditional home is also shaped and features beautifully crafted whimsical pieces cut out as an arm chair and pot plant, for example. It’s different from any other puzzle we have, and I can see this being an excellent choice for families wanting to work on completing a puzzle together on a rainy summer evening.

The puzzles from Wentworth Wooden Puzzles, which is based out in the Wiltshire countryside, are designed to challenge, and the fact the pieces are made of wood and come in various shapes make them very unusual. The difficulty level is also different, and I’ve been advised a 250-piece puzzle could at times be comparable to 1500-piece puzzles.

Bring on the summer holiday and relaxing days with jigsaw puzzles!
