Settling baby after injections
Baby Girl is not the only one who keeps forgetting what it’s like to have injections. We both smiled when we turned up at the hospital yesterday. Baby Girl didn’t seem to remember having had injections there before, so she was perfectly happy. I didn’t remember what Baby Girl was like after having had injections, so I was perfectly happy.
But three hours later I was on the phone to Daddy T, reminding him to come straight home from work that evening. Baby Girl was alternating between screaming and whining, and I was starting to feel completely worn out.
I was also annoyed with myself for not having remembered to get some extra rest before injection-day. She had fever after the 8-week injections, and that evening she was so miserable we moved her moses basket into the living room to have her sleeping next to us. After the 12-week injections she didn’t have fever, but she was still fretful and difficult to settle, similar to what she was like yesterday after her 16-week injections.
Note to self – read this post again before next time Baby Girl is due for injections, and be prepared for an exhausting evening.
