Sleep routine for new mums

Baby Girl is clearly growing up. She doesn’t necessarily wake herself up every three hours during the night, which is what we’ve been taught babies often do because of their sleep cycle.

But I’m the new baby in the house. I’m the one who wake up at three o’clock at night while she’s still fast asleep. I’m so used to getting up at around that time, so I jump out of bed looking for her.

Yesterday I didn’t see Baby Girl when I woke up. She was in her basket right next to me, but somehow I couldn’t see her in the dark. Instead, I started shaking Daddy T and shouted: “Where is she? Where is she?”

That’s when the crying started.

We’ve tried to get Baby Girl out of the habit of waking every three hours to ensure she can soon learn to sleep through the night, but I’m not exactly leading by example. It looks like I’m the one who needs help with sleeping – not her.
