Sponsored post: Ticking off Christmas shopping for kids with TK Maxx

The other day I was scooting down New King’s Road with two gigantic bags filled with toys and children’s clothes on each handle bar. I was on my way home from a Christmas shopping collaboration with TK Maxx, which had given me a voucher to buy a bundle of presents for each of my children in the new Oxford Street shop, and I was beaming with excitement and Christmas cheer.

It was my first time in a TK Maxx shop in London, and I was surprised to discover that the multi-level discount shop had a section with toys and children’s books. One of the things that impressed me the most in the toys section was the dolls, as I felt there were some great buys to be made for parents looking for either a baby doll or fashion doll for their child this Christmas.

Although I was on the hunt for slightly different items, it only took me 45 minutes to fill a big basket with gifts I knew the children would love, including doll accessories, building block sets, magic trick kits and a mix of classic, Christmas-themed and educational books.

I was also eyeing a great value set with hair accessories, which could have been fun for pretend play, and science-themed box kits, which were affordable and could have made ideal stocking fillers. In general, the prices meant I felt I could get a varied bundle of gifts for the voucher, and tick off some of the all-important categories on this year’s wish lists.

In addition to toys, however, I also like for the children to find some soft presents under the tree, and right next to the toys, I conveniently found the Kids’ Shoes, Girl’s Clothing and Boys’ Clothing sections. For my daughter, I picked out cozy, grey winter boots and a sweet Christmas sock gift box, and for my son, I chose a smart, knitted jumper, which will be ideal to wear over a shirt for any Twixmas outings.

Since this mega-efficient shopping outing, I’ve kept returning to TK Maxx online, and as a result, TK Maxx has suddenly gone from being off my radar to now appearing on my list of Frequently Visited pages on my phone. In addition, I’ve been to TK Maxx in Putney once in the past week, and a friend and I have planned another trip this week. Next on my list now is looking at the Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers, Santa sacks, Christmas wrapping and Christmas cards in store. Bring on December!
