0Star51 launches collection of girls vintage dresses made in London
New feel-good London childrenswear brand Star51 has launched its first collection of handmade dresses this week, and I was excited to see the new pieces at Kettner’s in Soho yesterday.
The luxury vintage-inspired dresses (starting from £90) are all handmade in London and designed by the young Star51 founder and fashion designer Banayioda Kefalas, who has experience from couture fashion.
The new brand focuses on age-appropriate, vintage-style clothing, and the first collection includes dresses with floral and lace details, retro prints and 1950s-style collars.
Department store House of Fraser will stock all 14 styles of dresses, as well as the matching hairbands that go with each style, and the collection is also available to buy online.
Several of the dresses, which are available in sizes 2-6 years are not fitted, so the luxurious and pretty dresses also come across as practical in terms of styles for little ones to grow into.
In addition, mums can feel good about buying Star 51 dresses, as the brand is donating a percentage of profits to London children’s charity Kids Company.
Next season Kefalas plans to expand the collection further, adding boys wear such as dungarees.
A local London luxury brand to watch!
