0Sticking to sleep routines on holiday
Baby Girl must have been pretty pleased with yesterday’s lunch. She got to explore the beautiful gardens surrounding Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, and had a lovely and unexpected milkfeed with me standing up in the shade under a tree carrying her in my arms. I was pretty desperate.
I needed to get Baby Girl to sleep in her buggy, so I could go enjoy lunch on the terrace, where Daddy T and I had booked a table as a nice treat to coincide with her nap-time.
After 45 minutes of me trying to rock, feed, walk and lull her to sleep in the garden, where I hoped we caused minimal disruption to hotel guests and dressed up lunch-goers, I gave up. Daddy T had collapsed on a bench close by, not happy about me having planned something that clearly didn’t work with an upset Baby Girl.
It’s not easy sticking to routines on holiday. it doesn’t always go as planned. But if it had been up to me, we would have shared an ice cream on the terrace before leaving. I think an off-day would have been fine although we could have ended up with a moody Baby Girl in a nice restaurant.
Daddy T was not up for gambling on Baby Girl’s mood though. He is much more of a risk-taker on the black jack table than when it comes to travelling with baby in tow. Apparently it’s all about taking calculated risks.
