0Why Stokke Scoot v2 works for London life with baby
‘It’s in baby brother’s buggy!’
Daddy T had gone to search for Teddy, and three-year-old Baby Girl had just remembered Teddy had been safely stored in the basket underneath Baby Boy’s Stokke Scoot v2, which we received to review.
Teddy regularly travels in that spacious basket, and it must be a pretty comfy place for him to lie. Baby Girl–or Daddy T–can easily reach him when he’s needed, and for me, the user-friendly basket means I don’t need a buggy clip. I usually store shopping bags in the basket, and I keep the rain cover there.
We’ve been caught in the rain a few times recently, and I’ve struggled with some buggy rain covers in the past, but this one isn’t too fiddly. It is pretty self explanatory, and there’s been no need to read the instructions.
Even folding the buggy is easy peasy. It folds in one and looks compact when folded. When going in the car, however, I often only bring the base together with the car seat adaptors because I like having the option to wheel Baby Boy around in the car seat. Some buggies are painful to use with car seat adaptors, but the Stokke ones simply click on, which is ideal for someone like me who use them all the time for running errands.
Since the buggy feels quite narrow, I also think it looks particularly compact with the car seat on top. When I have the normal seat on top and use the lie-flat position for young babies, the buggy can feel relatively long, so in cafes I’m glad to have the option to bend the handlebar down to shorten the buggy slightly. I received the Stokke Scoot Bag, which makes it possible to use the pushchair from birth, and although it’s not easy to carry Baby Boy around in it since it doesn’t work like a carrycot, I like that the bag is padded and machine washable.
The car seat adaptors and cup holder are the other extras I’ve bought so far, and I think these two are a must for city life. I’ve not missed having a parasol now that Baby Boy uses the lie-flat position because the oversized canopy with UV protection–a brilliant feature on this buggy–is fantastic for creating shade.
I also keep getting positive comments about the gorgeous aqua blue colour on the Stokke Scoot v2. It looks stylish, and if Baby Girl, who usually stands on her Lascal Buggy Board Maxi, could avoid pulling down the canopy with sticky fingers, it could even remain spot free.
