Swedish Newbie opens Richmond shop

Following the autumn pop-up in Chelsea, Swedish children’s brand Newbie has found a new home in Richmond. Newbie opened its first UK store on George Street in Richmond on 17 November, and I was invited to preview the shop on Thursday.

While enjoying a latte in the sweet shop on the high street with clothes for ages 0 to 8, I had an opportunity to browse the classic clothes that are all made from organic, sustainable cotton, or recycled materials. The Richmond store, open from 10am-6pm daily, will offer the full AW17 collection and will also play host to in-store events, including personalisation sessions and coffee mornings.

After speaking to the Newbie team on Thursday, I also understood that the Richmond store is only the beginning. In a couple of weeks the brand’s London adventure will continue with another South West London store opening – that time in Kingston.

On 1 December Newbie is opening its second UK Newbie store on 17 Church Street in Kingston, and with the two new stores in addition to the online boutique it seems like we will see more of the functional and sustainable Newbie clothes in South West London going forward.

I’ve heard mummy friends in Scandinavia talk about Newbie for years, and we’ve also received baby gifts from Newbie in the past. Now that Newbie has arrived in the UK, I can see myself too starting to buy clothes for the children from Newbie–particularly essentials like organic cotton vests, tights, socks, briefs, nightwear and joggers. I like the softness of the materials and Newbie offers very competitive prices, which I think is great for essentials we stock up on.

One to look out for in SW London!
