Review: Sylvanian Families Striped Cat Family for sweet imaginative play

Sylvanian Families Imaginative Play Toys‘Please, can I have your arms young lady’

Big Girl was completely absorbed in dressing a striped cat girl the other afternoon. As a Sylvanian Families fan, she had received the new Sylvanian Families Striped Cat Family with a dad, mum, girl and boy to review, and was very excited about the new additions to her collection.

She started playing with Sylvanian Families soon after turning three when a friend got her the school building for her birthday, and she received The Seaside Cruiser as a gift from The Toy Store, which has an impressive selection of the range and giant-sized characters in-store.

I remember Sylvanian Families, which is celebrating 30 years this year, from when I was growing up, and now as a mum, I think the brand is charming, encouraging imaginative play with innocent, cute little animal characters. I’m also impressed with all the details, with sets including a large number of tiny little pieces, and families like the Striped Cat Family including information about the family’s interests and lifestyle.

For three-year-old Big Girl, I also like that when playing with the Striped Cat Family (£16.99), she could put the dresses on the mum and girl without my help. The clothes for Sylvanian Families appear to be easier for her to put on than regular dolls clothes.

We now just need a better place for storing the growing collection and playing with all the fun little things. Exciting in years to come for both Big Girl and me!
