0Taking baby out for breakfast
I think Uncle F might deserve a bit more credit than I give him when it comes to organizing baby activities. When he suggested we meet for breakfast at 7.15 in the morning on Wednesday at The Wolseley, my first thought was that he clearly had no idea what my mornings were like at the moment.
To me, it sounded like breakfast at The Wolseley would be practically impossible. We can’t exactly jump out of bed and leave the house in 15 minutes. But on Wednesday, I learnt that we can in 30 minutes.
I sterilized dummies, boiled water, cleaned toys and packed Baby Girl’s changing bag the night before. When we got up at 6.30 I only had to feed her, do a top and tail, get her dressed and prepare milk for her breakfast. Forty-five minutes later, Baby Girl was sat in a high-chair at our table in between all the suits having breakfast meetings at The Wolseley.
She looked a bit confused when she realised we were going out so early, but no one at the restaurant seemed confused that I was bringing a baby there for a weekday breakfast. In fact, we were assured that babies were very welcome at The Wolseley and that there are changing facilities and space for buggies at the back. Uncle F clearly couldn’t have picked a more suitable place for Baby Girl to have her breakfast.
