0Tea party at Ralph Lauren children’s store celebrates global literacy program
‘Big teddy!’
‘I told you you would want to come to the Ralph Lauren tea party!’
Baby Girl needed a lot of encouragement to walk from the car to the Ralph Lauren children’s store in New Bond Street on Thursday afternoon, but when she spotted the huge teddy bear and the balloons by the entrance, I think she was pretty pleased she’d listened to me.
The place was already packed with stylish mums and kids, including host Tamara Beckwith, and everyone was there to celebrate the Ralph Lauren’s Global Literacy Programme and its partnership with UK charity Booktrust.
Ralph Lauren Corporation supports children’s literacy and education with the introduction of The Ralph Lauren Children’s Literacy Programme. As part of this programme, the brand has released a literacy capsule collection (see picture of t-shirt above), and 25% of the purchase price from items in this collection will be donated to Booktrust in the UK and other charities globally.
Many of the items in the collection–such as t-shirts, a tote and journal–include a quote from Ralph Lauren: “Books open windows to the world and have the power to transform lives”
I couldn’t agree more.
