0Testing a dinner kit service
The other week I called Grandma N and casually mentioned that I had just finished cooking my husband a lovely mackerel dinner with a potato salad with radishes. She sounded pretty impressed.
But I’m not a regular mackerel-filet buyer. This was definitely a first for me. The recipe actually came from The Recipe Kit, which I was testing for free that week. I had the opportunity to choose three recipes online, and we then received a box with cooking instructions and ingredients for three dinners.
The ingredients included spices we had never heard of before, and for the first time we had a salad with flowers at home.
Two of the three recipes turned out really well, and we were very excited about testing our new dinners. I realised that the concept suits me since I’m struggling to come up with things to cook, we often end up eating the same dishes every week, and as a busy mum I have little time to cook.
Our only issue was that we had problems cooking the third dish, which seemed more difficult to make and it took Daddy T way longer than expected to prepare it.
But I’m not giving up. I asked the chef to recommend three recipes for this week that would be relatively easy and quick to cook to minimize the risk of us making mistakes again. Our new box, which I ordered using the 50% discount code ‘DELICIOUS’, is due to arrive later today, and I can’t wait to open it and see what exciting ingredients we’ve got this time!
