0The first baby vaccination
Baby Girl and I had to go to Peggy Porschen again yesterday. We clearly both needed a treat. We had survived our first vaccination, and I felt completely drained.
I’m not sure if the BCG had the same effect on Baby Girl though. She might have been the one who had been vaccinated, but I was the one who had been worrying about it for days. She simply cried for a few seconds, and was perfectly happy as soon as she was back on my shoulder.
But she shouldn’t have any major reason to complain either. She seemed to be in very good hands. As I’m a tad focused on health, I’m thrilled to have found a great doctor for Baby Girl. Armed with an email address and mobile phone number, Baby Girl now seems to be under as good care as I was while I was pregnant with her.
Baby Girl’s doctor is consultant paediatrician Dr Kingi Aminu, and she gave her the BCG at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital, one of the places she sees private patients. Baby Girl was already familiar with Dr Aminu from The Westover in South Kensington, and she’s been very friendly and helpful, answering all my typical new-mum questions.
Finding a good doctor and surviving the BCG – an excellent occasion for Peggy Porschen’s Chocolate Heaven cupcake and a decaf latte.
