03 things to do for London families this weekend
See the gorgeous lavender fields in Surrey
Surrey Lavender farm Mayfield Lavender (see picture above), which celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year, is open until September 15, every day from 10am to 6pm. The 25-acre organic lavender farm in Banstead is regularly used as a backdrop in films and magazine shoots, and I’ve been recommended to visit from July when it’s in full bloom. A nominal £1 per person entry fee covers the cost of the upkeep of the farm, and parking is free.
Join a free Monkey Music session at Cineworld Fulham Road
On Saturday 9 July Monkey Music is hosting a teacher training day, and families can join for a free class by emailing chelsea.westminster@monkeymusic.co.uk. The first class is at 9.40am (toddlers from 12 months) on Saturday, and there are also classes at 10.20am (children aged 2 and 3 years old) and 11am (babies from 3 months).
Celebrate Bastille Day at Borough Market with Club Petit Pierrot
On Sunday 10 July kids French class provider Club Petit Pierrot will be in the children’s corner at Bastille Festival at Borough Market. There will be stories and games all afternoon, and at 2pm and 3.45pm there will be singing and dancing.
