10 things to do with kids in and around London over half term

1. Paint pottery at Sammy Duder
Welcoming pottery studio Sammy Duder in Battersea is fun to visit for both young and old, and it’s open from  Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm

2. Play football with The Little Foxes Club
To get out and keep active, The Little Foxes Club football half-term sessions in Hurlingham Park can be great fun, and Big Girl enjoyed the one-hour sessions I signed her up for last half-term

3. Pamper your doll at My London Girl
Doll brand My London Girl is hosting a Doll Spa Event Day with doll hairdressing (£5) and doll nail painting (hands and toes for £4) in their Westfield London shop on Wednesday 17 February from 12-5pm. There will also be free nail painting and nail art designs for girls on Thursday 18 February from 11-6pm at the Westfield Kid Club Corner located in front of the Disney Store on the ground floor

4. Visit animals in Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
We regularly try to visit Battersea Park Children’s Zoo, which Mummy in the City is a brand ambassador for, because of its central location, brilliant outdoor play facilities and cute animals to see. This half-term there are love hearts hidden around the zoo for children to count and enter a prize draw

5. Enjoy kids classes at Cuckoo Hibou
New boutique, cafe and kids workshop venue Cuckoo Hibou will be open over half-term and run its weekly drop-in classes, including art, drama, French and music classes for children aged 18 months to 3 years and 3 years to 6 years

6. Get climbing at Clip n’ Climb
For children aged 4 and over, the exciting range of different climbing walls at Clip n’ Climb in Chelsea makes for an active and fun day out for both boys and girls

7. Meet ponies and play at Bocketts Farm
One of my favourite farms to visit near London is Bocketts Farm (see picture above), and from 13 to 21 February little ones can meet and groom miniature Shetland Ponies, watch flying demonstrations with birds of prey, enjoy the indoor soft play and outdoor go karts, jumping pillows and trails, and some may even be lucky enough to see a lamb being born since it’s the start of the lambing season

8. Decorate biscuits at Biscuiteers
In the sweet Biscuiteers boutiques in Battersea and Notting Hill children can enjoy biscuit decorating while mums and dads relax with coffees and cakes

9. Play pirates at Garsons Farm
The pick-your-own season at Garsons Farm is yet to start, but this half-term little ones can visit Garsons to meet Captain Redbeard and his shipmate Ruby Tortuga instead. From 15 to 19 February kids can learn to talk and walk like a pirate and try their luck in a pirate treasure hunt

10. Tour an art exhibition at Saatchi Gallery
On Monday 15 February children aged 6 to 11 can join Paperchain Theatre for an interactive workshop (£12 per child) to explore the current Saatchi Gallery exhibition Champagne Life through drama and art
