0When toddler starts finding good excuses for clothes shopping
‘New trousers, mummy!’
As soon as we’d sat down at the colouring table at the tea party at the Ralph Lauren’s childrenswear shop in New Bond Street the other week, Baby Girl found a very good excuse for me to buy her new trousers.
I think she must have taken note of what happened when she spilt a latte all over me in Hally’s in Parsons Green, and I ran across the road to buy some pink trousers I’d been eyeing in Katie & Jo.
This time she made a more strategic move. She spilt on herself instead, meaning she would be the one benefitting from some impromptu clothes shopping and not me.
She clearly needed pink trousers too, and the Ralph Lauren children’s shop must have seemed like the perfect place to get some. After spilling apple juice all over the jeans she was wearing, she picked out some soft, bright pink leggings I could buy her and she could change into. Exactly what a girl needs this season.
