‘Wow, I can’t believe this is for me!’

When three-year-old Big Girl opened a Frozen-themed gift she’d received to review from Disney her reaction was exactly what I would love to see on Christmas Day.

She smiled with her whole face, looking and sounding overjoyed to see the huge Frozen Fever Deluxe Doll set (£75.95) and large, cozy, blue Olaf Fleece Throw (£15.95) she’d received. Based on her reaction the gift really seemed like something that would make a perfect main Christmas present for a princess fan like Big Girl.

I felt the doll set, which is inspired by the short animation Frozen Fever and includes everything needed for playing out the birthday party in Arendelle, looked more impressive in real than in the picture online, and both Big Girl and me were so excited we ripped open the box. We were amazed with the Elsa and Anna dolls, which sing parts of ‘Making Today A Perfect Day’ from Frozen Fever when their hands are twirled, the Kristoff doll, the miniature Elsa and Anna figurines, which are meant as birthday presents, the multi-layer birthday cake, different outfits and more.

We were so excited, damaging the birthday banner as we pulled out all the pieces, and Big Girl wanted to play straight away. It didn’t matter that she wasn’t familiar with the song. The fact that they sing is fantastic for encouraging more imaginative play, setting the scene and inspiring little ones to be creative.

As soon as Big Girl got up the next morning, she wanted to play more with the set: ‘Come on Elsa this party is going to start in five minutes. No, Olaf don’t eat the cake’

When she had a friend over a few days later, the set was again what the girls wanted to play with, and when watching TV at the end of the day, she could cuddle up on the sofa under the super-soft fleece blanket with Olaf appliqué and snowflake embroidery, which can also be personalised for an extra charge when ordered online.

The fleece throw also comes in a Frozen version with an Elsa and Anna appliqué, and I’ve also ordered Big Girl Frozen nightwear from Disney Store for Christmas, which is also something I know she’ll love
