0Top holiday experiences for kids
When I suggested we take the tram home after a visit to a park in Oslo over the summer I wasn’t expecting the reaction to be quite as positive as it was. Three-year-old Baby Girl was thrilled.
It wasn’t just that her feet were ‘ouchy’ and she claimed she couldn’t walk any further. She loved everything from the paper tickets to the fold down seats on the pram. We were on it for around five minutes, but it was still a definite holiday highlight.
We had to take a photo of the tram, keep the tickets as souvenirs, and every time we spotted a blue tram the rest of that weekend, Baby Girl pointed at it and exclaimed: ‘We went on that, Mummy!’
I’m not sure why I always seek out adventure parks and family attractions when we travel. Sometimes it’s probably more exciting to try out the public transport system.
This is what families want to do in London too, according to research carried out on behalf of Kensington’s Royal Garden Hotel. A survey of British parents revealed the two top London experiences parents think can enrich the children’s childhood are travelling on the underground and riding on the top of a double decker bus.
Simple pleasures are the best.
