0Top newborn presents fit for a little princess
Sue Hill cot blanket
Children’s clothing brand Sue Hill, a company I now blog for, offers super soft, handknitted cot bed-sized merino/cashmere blankets (see picture above) for £129, which make wonderful long-lasting newborn presents. We bought two of these before Baby Girl was born, and we still use them due to the practical size of these blankets. Baby Boy will have his own one too, and I’ve also bought a blanket like this as a newborn present to friends in the past because I think it makes such a brilliant gift. The blankets can even be personalised with name or initial.
Purple Dragon membership
The exclusive private member’s club Purple Dragon in Chelsea aims to offer effortless family time all the time, and it’s hard to fault the play, art, baking, music and water facilities on offer for young children (membership from £2500 per annum per child). I think babies often enjoy being out and about too, and I started taking Baby Girl to Purple Dragon when she was 11 weeks old. I loved having a welcoming and family-friendly club to go to instead of feeling stuck at home with baby, and I think Purple Dragon is the perfect place for both mums and little ones to hang out without having to make plans to meet up at specific times, which can be challenging in the beginning.
The Essential Bag Company new baby bag
Baby bag gift company The Essential Bag Company, launched by a Parsons Green mum earlier this year, has a selection of luxurious pre-filled new baby bags, which make wonderful gifts. Customers can opt for either a ready-made bag or to create their own gift bag. For a British-themed new baby bag, I think the stylish and functional PacaPod Mirano bag (see picture) filled with a Rachel Riley crown print babygrow, Jellycat bunny, Jellycat elephant book and a Crabtree & Evelyn hand cream for mum, for example, would have make a lovely present.
Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby princess!
