0Top outdoor toddler classes in London for summer
Teddy Tennis
After seeing Daddy T play tennis, Baby Girl has been eager to start herself, and it was great fun to take her to a Teddy Tennis class this week. I loved that we could spend time outside in the sun and she could run around with friends while learning a new skill. The tennis coaches were fantastic at connecting with the age group too, and the little ones appeared to enjoy playing all the games, throwing balls into buckets and hitting their first tennis balls. There are Teddy Tennis franchises in Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Wandsworth, among others, and one of the outdoor venues is Holland Park.
Little Kickers
For football lovers, Little Kickers offers sports classes for children aged between 18 months and seven years, introducing little ones to football and teaching them new skills. In South West London, the outdoor venues this term include St Luke’s Park, Parsons Green, Bishop’s Park and Hyde Park, and according to other mums I know, these active classes are great fun and ideal for both boys and girls.
South Park Tennis
There are several tennis courts in the lovely South Park in Fulham, and South Park Tennis offers classes for a variety of age groups, starting from the age of three, on weekday afternoons. For three and four-year-olds, the sessions last for 30 minutes and there can be up to six children in each class.
Playball
One of the classes that keep being recommended to me by other mums is Playball, multi-sports classes aimed at teaching children between two and eight years old the fundamentals of sports and introducing them to a variety of sports. The outdoor venues include St Luke’s Park in Chelsea, South Park in Fulham, Clapham Common and Battersea Park, and it’s easy to see class availability online.
