0Travelling with one parent
Baby Girl prefers to travel as a family. Travelling with me on my own is not cool. We did it for the first time yesterday, and she didn’t exactly seem to want us to make a habit of it.
By the time we made it home, we had set a new record for how long the journey home could take. It had taken us more than three hours from the time we landed despite travelling without checked luggage.
Daddy T can do the same in 45 minutes. But that’s on his own. As a two-person team, I’ve realised that Baby Girl and I are not particularly efficient.
Baby Girl made it sound like she was starving in the back seat when we were driving home from the airport, and I ended up having to make two stops to feed her, including a twenty-minute stop in a dark and empty car park along the motorway.
Even that didn’t get us all the way home though. Five minutes from home, I made a third stop to give Baby Girl a dummy. But she still seemed determined to put me off travelling for a while.
When Daddy T opened the door for us at home, he had two red-faced girls and a lot of tears. Some happy tears from someone who was very relieved to finally have made it there.
