0Trotters opens new flagship store on Kensington High Street
This morning 20-month-old Baby Boy turned on his charm to get two balloons. He was celebrating the opening of the new Trotters flagship store on Kensington High Street, and seemed to agree with me that this was a great new boutique.
The new Trotters is more spacious than the old Kensington High Street Trotters shop, and for young customers the highlight is the new custom-made Jolly Trotter pirate ship installation designed to make shoe fitting fun. Baby Boy tested the pirate ship slide, as well as the portholes to peer through and crawl under, and I think the ship is great for making shopping with little ones stress-free.
The new bright and spacious flagship shop from family-owned Trotters also features a good selection of shoes, smart children’s clothing for boys and girls, books, toys, cuddly animals and a hairdressing section with a large aquarium to keep kids entertained.
Baby Boy seemed excited by the shop’s selection of dinosaur sticker books, a Green Toys Fire Station and the many London-themed board books on display. I loved the new Little Alexander Bib Shorts (£37) for baby boys, the cashmere mix Vintage Speed Boat Jumper for older boys, and the new Liberty print Ellie Spring playsuits (£52) for girls.
At today’s opening I spoke to founder Sophie Mirman, who still runs the company with her husband, and I learnt about how Trotters launched its own label 15 years ago, with the appliqué ducks the brand has become known for being one of the original designs.
I like the look of this season’s cute duck dresses (£40) for baby girls in yellow and pink and I’m thrilled to see there are now also duck skirts (£40) for older girls, as Big Girl has long grown out of her favourite waddling duck baby dress.
This will most definitely not be our last visit to Trotters on Kensington High Street!
