0Keeping kids safer on the go with Trunki BoostApak
‘I want to take a taxi to school today!’
On Monday morning Big Girl didn’t feel she needed her scooter for the short walk to school. She suggested we take a taxi instead, as she wanted to use her Hello Kitty Trunki BoostApak–the 2-in-1 backpack and booster seat she’d received to review.
Since our car was stolen in January, we’re often relying on Uber and Hailo to get around right now, and having an approved car seat for group 2 and 3 that we can carry as a backpack has proved brilliant for keeping her safer during car journeys.
Over the weekend Big Girl filled her bright pink Hello Kitty BoostApak (was £49.99, now £24.99) with her doll and teddy and lots of accessories, and she was thrilled to sit on the backpack in the Uber, ready to go to a family brunch.
By the time we got there, Daddy T was convinced too, saying: ‘This is genius’ and showing off the BoostApak seat and the two sides that fold up for the seat belt to go under to all our friends at the brunch.
The reason it’s genius is because it’s a portable booster seat, which is incredibly useful for under 12s for all those times the everyday car seat is not available. I could see this being practical for going in a friend’s car, taking a hire car, using a London car club, or taking a taxi.
I also think it’s practical for travelling. The backpack seems very spacious, and I was surprised how many toys Big Girl managed to fit in there. The actual backpack might be a bit wide for her at the moment, but it features padded shoulder straps and it’s relatively light despite functioning as a car seat.
A brilliant travel accessory for kids for half term!
BoostApak is an approved car seat for group 2 and 3, and recommended for children under 135cm weighing between 15 and 36 kg (approximately 4–12 years)
