0The truth about moving house with a toddler
When Daddy T had taken Baby Girl to the playground on Saturday and I went to meet up with them, I first found the buggy parked to one side, but with no Baby Girl in it. In fact, there wasn’t even any space for her in the buggy. The seat was taken by Teddy.
Teddy is leading a very adventurous life these days and is forced to take regular baths in the washing machine. His life has changed dramatically after we moved, and in the last weeks he’s even started nursery school.
It’s suddenly become impossible to leave the house without Teddy, and Baby Girl, now 22 months old, has become very attached to him.
We’ve been advised that the fact that she insists on taking Teddy everywhere with her now could be linked to us moving houses. Teddy has always been with Baby Girl and he clearly provides her with a sense of security at a time of change.
At first, her becoming so attached to Teddy made me feel bad, as I was worried moving had been stressful for her too–despite not unpacking boxes or painting.
But my concerns are quickly forgotten when we drive down our new street and I hear: ‘House, house, house, house, house’ shouted from the backseat where she’s sitting together with Teddy.
Go Baby Girl! Go Teddy!
