0Unfolding a buggy like a pro
It sometimes seems like I need three arms to be a good mum – particularly when dealing with the buggy. Earlier in the week, I had to ask a lady who parked behind me to help me unfold the Bugaboo.
I was late for a lunch and had been kicking the buggy base for a good ten minutes. Passersby had been staring, and I was getting more and more frustrated. I knew which part I needed to kick, but it would have been much easier if I’d had a third arm to pull it out.
Next time I took the buggy out in the car I brought sellotape as a back-up. The plan was to tape one of the two buttons that have to be pushed down at the same time, freeing one of my arms to enable me to pull out the base instead of using the kicking strategy I had been taught by the salesperson in Harrods.
I now felt terribly well-prepared to tackle the buggy. But this time the buggy just flipped open. It suddenly just seemed quite easy to handle.
Apparently, I, like everyone else, can operate a buggy with just two arms.
