Using ToddlePass for exploring London kids classes

The other day I realised it would have been convenient for me to take Baby Boy to two classes after each other in the same venue, and when I logged on to the new class booking site ToddlePass I discovered I could book the class I wanted for next week without committing to the whole term.

This is exactly what I’ve missed in the past, and I think ToddlePass is a very welcome service on the London kids activity scene.

I have received a ToddlePass subscription to review this month, and I can already see me using the service again in the future. The subscription-based class booking system allows parents to book kids classes on the go instead of per term, and it is fantastic for trying out new classes and finding things to do last minute. In addition, it’s a great option if there’s a term you’re planning on doing more travelling and potentially missing classes if you do a term.

I would still recommend booking favourite classes per term as usual, however, as many popular London classes fill up quickly and going to weekly classes can be great for making new friends, but I think it is a win-win for both parents and class providers to have spare places available for booking through ToddlePass.

With ToddlePass the idea is also to give the child an opportunity to explore different activities, so it’s only possible to visit the same provider three times in 30 days. To find classes, parents can search activities by location, age and category, and for fifteen-month-old Baby Boy I can book everything from an extra swimming class to music, Spanish and arts and crafts classes.

I can also register Big Girl to the same account and when booking a class I will then be asked which child I’m booking for. For four-year-old Big Girl, I’ve found tennis, football and dance classes on ToddlePass although most of the classes I’ve found for her age group were a bit further away from us.

Some classes are open for bookings on the day of the class, but in general it seems to be best to plan at least a day in advance. I also had to cancel one advanced booking I made, and that was also fine to do at the push of a button when giving more than 24 hours notice.

The only thing I wish had been different was the ToddlePass pricing structure, as I would have preferred to buy a lump of credits instead of a subscription. It is, however, possible to pause or cancel the subscription, and there are two price plans to choose from: Base Plan with 10 tokens each month for £24, or Value Plan with 20 tokens each month for £39. Classes are between 2 and 8 tokens per booking, and tokens can be used for up to 90 days.

All set for trying out new classes!
