0Washing baby clothes when abroad
Baby Girl’s shopping bags from the first day in Florida didn’t only include Ralph Lauren clothes. She also came home with Dreft laundry liquid.
Laundry liquid was one of the very few things we decided not to take on holiday. It’s not that I’ve ever taken laundry liquid on holiday before, and it’s not something I’ve seen a need to take. But I’m assuming it would be difficult to send the same care instructions to a hotel laundry service as the ones we sent to grandparents before visiting them.
Instead, I emailed an American friend with a baby before leaving London. Dreft was her recommendation and I found it straight away.
But after waiting five days for a chance to use it I was starting to get impatient. I had expected a bit of posseting and some laundry emergencies, but Baby Girl was doing extremely well on holiday. I was practically forced to create an opportunity to use our 150 ounce of laundry liquid.
To find something that needed washing, I ran down to the hotel shop. I bought a very practical and cute Snapper Rock bucket hat for Baby Girl, washed it and dried it in the hotel room and put it on Baby Girl. It’s clearly worth being prepared for on-the-go laundry needs.
