04 ways to extend the summer holiday feeling in London
Stock up on mum and daughter swimwear at the heidi klein trunk show at Maggie & Rose
Luxury beachwear shop heidi klein has teamed up with family club Maggie & Rose in Kensington for a trunk show, giving mums the opportunity to buy beachwear for themselves and their little girls. There will be matching mum and daughter bikinis, one-pieces, summer dresses and more, and attendees can receive a free heidi klein linen scarf (worth £60) with purchase at the event, which takes place on Tuesday 1 September from 9-6pm at Maggie & Rose, 58-60 Pembroke Road, London W8 6NX.
Eat cake in The Teahouse at Petersham Nurseries
Take the family to beautiful garden centre Petersham Nurseries (see pictures) in Richmond, which boasts a glasshouse restaurant and a relaxed Teahouse cafe. The Teahouse, which serves light, Italian-inspired lunch dishes, homemade cakes, teas and coffee, makes a lovely place for a family outing and we ran into other friends with kids last time we visited. Baby Girl loved the fountain in the courtyard and all the gorgeous flowers, and we even spotted some cows across the road. A brilliant summer day out! (Arrive early if you want to park in the narrow lane leading up to Petersham Nurseries)
Take a Hamleys Summer Selfie at the Playmobil Roadshow
The Playmobil Roadshow will arrive at Hamleys in Regent Street on Sunday 30 August (12-6pm), and there will be a range of fun activities aimed at children aged between 18 months and 8 years. Children can play at play tables, take a #hamleysummer selfie with a life-size figure, try their luck at a guessing game, enter a colouring competition and meet the Playmobil Knight.
Spend a day on the riverside to celebrate Unicorn’s 10th anniversary
Children’s theatre the Unicorn Theatre by London Bridge is celebrating its tenth anniversary this bank holiday weekend, offering a range of free events for families. Little ones can join an interactive arctic adventure, create puppets, gain new circus skills and more.
