3Welcome to the family, Baby Boy!
In the last week I’ve learnt something new. A very cute addition to the family has arrived, and there’s a new man in charge. It’s Baby Boy.
Baby Boy and I both wanted to celebrate his arrival to the world this week, but I will admit we had different views on how late in the night these celebrations should continue.
He seemed to think it was a fantastic idea to only sleep when we were together–not when I desperately tried to carefully place him in his hospital crib and lie myself back down in my hospital bed. The arrangement I suggested was completely out of the question. He was only interested in playing ball if he was in my arms.
On the first night he also seemed to think an hour was more than enough to sleep between midnight and seven in the morning, while I had hoped we could sleep a few hours now and then at least.
In addition, it turns out Baby Boy is a big supporter of non-stop nighttime feeding, which is a term I really don’t want to be talking about at all.
Before this week I thought I was used to very little sleep because I had been through having a new baby before, but ‘very little sleep’ is clearly about to take on a whole new meaning this time around.
Welcome to the family, Baby Boy!
Congratulations on your new baby!! I’ve been following your blog for awhile – it’s so helpful and fun!
Congrats, Tine! Hope all is going okay…!
Thank you, both! It’s very exciting to have a new baby in the house again – despite not getting much sleep 🙂
