0What London family shows to book tickets for now
Before Christmas I was struggling to get tickets to Father Christmas on a weekend and recently I’ve felt I’ve been a little bit late in booking some of the tickets I’ve tried to secure for family events. If others have been in the same position, I’ve put together a list of some of the upcoming performances in London for spring:
Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival
When we went to see Disney on Ice at The O2 we decided Pinocchio’s mother looked pretty much like Elsa from Frozen, and Baby Girl seemed to be under the impression Elsa had made an appearance although Frozen was not part of the show. Baby Girl was still super excited about the show, but since she’s a huge fan of Frozen I really didn’t want her to miss out on the upcoming adventure at Wembley. Tickets for Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival, which includes performances from Frozen, are on sale, but there already appears to be limited availability for the London performances.
Octonauts Live and the Deep Sea Volcano Adventure
We received tickets to see the fantastic Octonauts Live and the Deep Sea Volcano Adventure show outside London in autumn, and we all loved the charming large, puppets, audience interaction and action-packed story line of this stage show. Now is the time to book tickets for London performances, which include Richmond from 28 February to 1 March and Wimbledon 2 to 3 May.
In the Night Garden Live
One of my favourite experiences last year was taking Baby Girl to In the Night Garden Live (see picture above) in Richmond Park. The show was really well-organised, and Baby Girl was so excited to see the life-sized characters from the TV show. She was up dancing and giggling, and after the show I called Daddy T straight away to tell him that this was one show we would have to see together as a family next year. The tour dates for 2015 will be published in the next few days, and you can now register for the pre-sale, which will last a couple of weeks before public booking opens at the end of the month.
Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom
This week, I was also excited to see the announcement of the Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom theatre tour, which kicks off on 26 March. This show–from the makers of Peppa Pig Live and Octonauts Live–toured in 2012/2013 too, but I’m yet to see it, and I can’t wait to review it on Mummy in the City in spring. Tickets are now on sale, and like Octonauts Live, this show will also be playing in Richmond and Wimbledon.
